Deborah's
Journey
My name is Deborah Hann. I am a Certified Personal
Trainer Specialist, Nutrition & Wellness Specialist and Pre & Post Natal Fitness Specialist. I am also a member
of Can-Fit-Pro, a world leader in the certification and continuing education of fitness professionals. I have a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Communications and I am certified in First Aid and CPR. I am also fully insured.
Although my professional background once focused on communications, I was no stranger to the fitness world.
As a youth, I was usually too small to make the cut on many team sports but still had a competitive spirit that I needed
to fulfill. The day I was introduced to strength training, I knew I had found my passion (at the age of 15!!) Who says you
need to play a team sport or run a race to be competitive? I found no better feeling of accomplishment than performing
new exercises, increasing intensity and feeling stronger as the weeks, months and years passed. My journey had begun!
As a former CFL cheerleader and communications professional, I know what it takes to
stay in peak condition despite a very busy career schedule, but after the birth of my daughter in my early thirties, I also
developed a first hand understanding what it is like to get into a fitness rut - and how hard it is to get out of one. I faced
many physical and mental challenges as well. I went from dancing
around a football field with my mid-drift showing to a uncomfortable and overweight new mom who barely had enough energy to
get out of bed in the morning. As you can imagine, my 5'2" frame took quite the
beating as my weight reached an unhealthy 192lbs during my pregnancy. Yes, like many moms-to-be out there, I believed
that "eating for two" and elastic waist pants meant a free for all at the food buffet.
Unfortunately the weight didn't come off as I had hoped and my spirits sunk to a new
low as I approached my daughter's second birthday still carrying "baby weight". I knew I couldn't use that excuse
forever and it was time to get back on track. Once again, I turned to my true love of fitness training. Really, how could
I not love something that changed my body and mind for the better?
Due
to my own lifestyle change and witnessing how much happier both my daughter and I are because of it, I developed a deep desire
to help others achieve their goals to live healthier, happier and stronger lives.
I invite you to let me join you on your journey to wellness, the path to a healthier you!
